The most important scale of measuring obesity may be defined as the body mass index. Therefore the diet is balanced. It is important to note here that these low carb diets facilitate the intake of healthy fats and not saturated fats which are not good for health which aid in loss of weight.

It is necessary to note that the main impetus to these low carb weight loss diets is provided by the controlled consumption of carbohydrates and in the primary stages fruits and vegetables are also consumed in a restrained manner. However in the later stages they may be included. Low carb diets are flexible and therefore can be appropriated for a long term period.
